1971 Coupe deVille w/ 120k miles. a North Carolina car that found it's way north. The body, floors, trunk, and frame are all very solid but the paint is very bad. flaking and peeling away as sun-baked 40 yr old lacquer does...

The car looks good from about 20 feet, but does need some work cosmetically. There is a little bit of rot under the skirts, and rear window mounting surface (under the vinyl top) where new metal must be welded in, and both front fenders have holes under the stainless trim. I am looking for front fenders from a 71 or 72, and skirts from 71-76. LMK if anyone has any.

Mechanically the car is pretty sound, only in need of maintinance items. I drove the car home 40 miles with no rear brakes and exhaust leaking into the passenger compartment. The make-shift exhaust system on the car was just loosely hanging and banging into the driveshaft around every turn. I ripped off all the pipes and exh. manifolds, then replaced with new gaskets, and now i am getting ready to do a nice welded 2 1/2" true dual setup. i also bent new brake lines from the center of the car back, and replaced a cracked brake hose.

The 472 c.i. V8 is the best thing about this car. It moves the 5,200 lb beast effortlessly. I can't wait to cruise it!
