July 08.

After weeks of searching, finally found a car which was within our budget. 1980 Toyota KE70 early model. Has a ported and balanced 4AGE engine, AE86 gearbox,AE86 welded rear diff, TRD shocks, chopped springs, fully spot welded chassis and a lot of previous history in the local drift schene.

These are the first few pics of the car.

We checked out a supercharged TE71 earlier. The price was OK but it had serious rust issues. You could kick out the rear just by thinking, though! Another choice was 20v KE70 with a very nice interior. The price was quite high though.

The soon to be co-owner of the car WWK having the 1st drive. First impressions: strong engine, no idling issues, filthy interior but we need power steering!

19th July 08. Got the car home . Car looks pretty banged up. The front, side and rears seem to have been renovated by other cars or lamp posts.

Check out the more than 3% camber on the fronts. Humm.....

19th July WWK the new proud co-owner of this drift machine.

Last week of July.

Time to start work on the car. Decided to use What Motorsports in USJ .They are a great bunch of guys, great service and the price is not too bad. At least we do get attention unlike some service and mod shops in Sunway. Not everyone has a Ver. 9 STI and is willing to just dump RM60k cash to make it "faster, louder and prettier".

Check the lubes, oils, pads and other stuff to make sure everhing is fine. Changing the lights, bucket seats, harness and a few other stuff. Oh did I mention aircon and power steering?

Getting some body work done . Bashing out the bumper and fenders.

Ahh....those sweet spot welds.

9th Aug 08. WWK trying out the newly installed seats. They seem to fit him fine but they are squeezing my nuts!!! Got to lose some weight.

15th Aug. Got the car back. Time for some trashing !!

15th Aug 08. Car looks better after getting the body panels bashed back into shape. Next thing maybe is a fine coat of paint? Look closely at the ground. No prizes for guessing what this particular spot is good for! WWK is obsessed with "building a new history" with the car. You should have seen his face when he saw the previous pics of the car in the drift scene.

29th Aug 08.

Engine back from the machine shop.

The background is a "fresh" street AE86 from East Malaysia, in the process of being built up into the owner's drift machine. We want his rear suspension, badly!

What's Up Holmie? Super Awsome Drifting Your 81'Corolla KE70 Right-Hand Wheel. I Like It. And I Like The Way That You Put An AE86's Dash On Your KE70's Interior. 5 Stars For You. My Friend Roberto Would Like Your KE70 Too. Keep Drifting.
