Hello everybody!
my green neon is all done.
its just my winter beater so not much is done to it
the latest pics
i have gotten all three of my neons together for one big neon photo shoot
Me and my green neon
update!
This is how my green sits as of right now
i have debadged everything, got the 2nd gen R/T rims
got projector headlights added the same mesh grill as my blue neon
and got the custom exhaust done
not bad for a beater and my daily driver
Here it is all clean and de-badged
the story of greenie
so this is my old van
I sold her october 1st 2008
for this much
$1860 (the canaidian cash is on my spoiler of my iceman edition neon)
the next day i began to shop around for a new winter beater.
i love neons and i know them so well that i bought this one a few days later
she needs alot of body work, but as for motor, she is a virgin and runs well, only 140,000 km
i paid $1800 for her.
its a 1997 dodge neon sport coupe (or so it says...)
its a base model with a/c, thats it, no fog lights, no power anything, not even a tilt sterring wheel (like come on, who doesnt get that option)
so im going to try to keep the modding low, since this is my winter beater...
i already put in the old glow gauges cluster from my other neon since the speedo was broken in this one.
ive ordered a dual tip exhaust muffler already, one day after buying it haha.
but thats its for now. i have to fix up the scrapes seen in the last pic and the roof has some rust. after that i can get some more mods
So today, after work i started the body of my green neon. i took the rust out of the roof and fixed the huge scrapes and dents out of the left quater panel and rear door.
i did the body work then primed them.
i hope to paint that damaged areas this weekend...
here are the primed areas
In this picture you can see my iceman edition neon in the back ground.
when i clean up my green one im going to get some good pics of them both
one problem with my green neon i found out today is..
i think the fuel pump is going, i can hear this odd sound right above the fuel tank.. a costly repair..
Oct. 11 2008
so i took my neon into my work today for a complete inspection...
here is a list of whats wrong and what it needs
needs a fuel pump (just like i thought)
needs front strunts and plates
rotors and pads
new tires
day time running lights module
and it had 4 oil leaks: oil sending unit, valve cover, cam shaft sensor and oil pan.
im heading to the scrape yard tomorrow to get some parts, and maybe some new seats, cause these ones suck. i hope i can find some R/T seats or at least a highline set.
UPDATED!
so its been a weel since ive last updated here is whats new
i changed the fuel pump with the help of my brother, not a fun job, im replaced all the gaskets to stop the leaks. that damn fuel pump was $300 and aftermarket fuel pumps were more that the OEM ones.
i painted the primed spots and polished the rest of the car
here are the pics
first coat of sealer
now the base coat
clear coat!
Now that the painting is done. i put on the new exhuast
here are somes pics of my car with the new paint and exhuast all done
i added new rear window rockford speakers
while i was at the junkyard this past weekend i picked up all new seats from a 99 neon sport. i also took the power windows from it as well, so i will be added them in soon.
old seats
once i swap over the power windows i will get some more pics. it is possible to make a neon with crank windows have power windows. ive dont it on my blue neon. just have to do some wiring, not just plug and play as most people think...
Here are some pictures of my neons together
november 25 2008
Ok New Rims!!!!
they are from a 2002 chrysler neon R/T
The neon i got these rims from was written off...
so i was lucky enough to score these rims for free!
This is my new factory spoiler painted black.
