UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE---UPDATE

I have owned two 3rd generation F-bodies in the past. My first one was a 1985 Pontiac Trans-AM. It was Blue/Grey and was powered my the 5.0L HO engine and 5 speed transmission. The next one I purchased was a 1987 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA. That was powered by a 5.7L engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission. After selling the the GTA to buy a new home, I always swore some day I would buy another one.

That day came on June 22, 2002 when I bought a 1988 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA, Black, from E-bay. I won the bid on it, however the reserve was not met. After bargaining with the seller, she was delivered to me on July 1, 2002 from Southern New Jersey.

It didn't take long until I was bitten by the modification bug. I planned on installing a new cam, heads, headers, cat-back system, and an Accel Superram.

After removing one of the heads I noticed alot of pitting on the inside of the cylinder walls, probably from the amount of time the car had spent in storage. This led to removal of the engine. Block bored .30 over and line bored, crank cut .10/.10, new rod bolts, Keith Black pistons, new rings, and entire rotating assembly balanced.

Engine is assembled and installed along with an ATI procharger, supercharger. Now begins the tuning.
