2007 Mustang GT

Thanks for checking out my 2007 Mustang GT. I graduated from Purdue University in 2004 and all through school I looked forward to the day when I could afford a new car. I had my eyes on Trans Am's and Camaro's but with the death of the F-body in '02 there would be no new one in my drive! Alas in '04 I laid my eyes on the 2005 Mustang! I knew then that I would eventually end up with one to replace my retired 1988 T-bird (which I still have). After I turned 25 and my insurance rates dropped I had a local dealer find me one. My only specs were Alloy grey, 5 speed, 18" polished wheels, and no stripes or hood scoop. After much searching they found this car in Ohio. It is the first new car I've ever bought. So far I have added chrome trim bezels to the fog lights and tail lights. I have also added polished Pypes Violator mufflers and 20% tint on the windows. Other than that she is stock and will stay that way until the warranty is out. My wife and I took it on Hot Rod Power Tour 2008 and had an absolute blast...even got 25-26 mpg!

Future plans:
1.) I plan to always drive this car on nice days only and keep it garaged.
2.) I would like to add a Hurst shifter with white shifter knob.
3.) Painted side mirror covers
4.) Some type of CAI and a programmer when the warranty runs out.
5.) some headers
Dreams:
6.) cams
7.) glassback roof
8.) shaker hood

Here is a small sampling of some pics of my car on the tour. It was a blast and I hope to do it again someday with my '88 T-bird when it is finished.
This picture was taken after we ate dinner one night. We came out and these 'Stangs were parked next to me!

This is before leaving from Heartland Park in Topeka, KS one morning of the Tour. The '57 Chevy next to me had a 460 Ford in it! This was early by the time we left the whole lot was full behind my car.

Not sure where we were on this one but just so happened a '07 California Special parked next to me.

This is at our hotel one night. I think we were in Lincoln, Nebraska here. The hotels at night after the show are the most fun because everyone hangs out and talks. There were a lot of burnouts, people fixing problems, etc. One night I saw a guy drop the tranny on his Pontiac Lemans in the hotel parking lot!

My car is in a picture in the December '08 issue of HOTROD magazine! Too bad its not a full out feature! Visit www.hotrod.com to read more about the Power Tour! I highly recommend going on the tour and the magazine in general for that matter.
