That's right, it reads Fuel Economy, this was a very rare option for the El Camino for any year! This guage is used to determine how good of gas mileage you are getting. On the left side of the guage, it reads Minimum, on the right, it reads Maximum. When you are on the highway, and just cruising, not having to be on the gas all the time, you are feeding very little gas to the carb, and it is usually about centered, which is pretty good, but if you mash the gas, you are feeding a lot of gas to the carb, in return getting horrible mileage, and the needle swings all the way over to minimum, which means you are getting the minimum anount of gas mileage, AKA, Not good! It works off a vacuum line, one of GM's fairly good ideas, so how about that discontinuation of the Camaro? Well, let's not go there!!

Just a pic of the head liner. Just to show that there's no sag here!
