THINGS I HAVE LEARNED IN THIS BUILD
1. If you put a bigger set of fuel injectors in your car do not try to run it without a tune...put stock in until it is tuned (went through 3 sets of spark plugs and was scatching my head until I was informed of my problem)
2. If there is a 500 mile break-in on you new clutch, do not try to dyno after 200 miles on your new clutch. (3rd pull on the dyno ripped through a new centerforce dual friction and trashed my fadenza flywheel)
3. If you are going to put a bigger cam in your car you must install a larger oil pump and if you install a larger oil pump you could have lifter issues. (had 100 miles on the car and had 2 of the stock lifter stop pumping up on me, bought comp cams magnum series and love them.
4. If you are going to run a nitrous system use 2 safty systems. (I was using only one...the throttle micro switch and forgot to turn off my master nitrous switch. dumped alot on nitrous into my cylenders with the car not running, thank god I noticed it or there would have been a big bang!)
5. The pilot bearing is not the same one lsx motors for a manual and automatic trans. (had my car almost together when I realized that the "know it all" at my local shop didnt know what he was talkin about!)
6. If you decide to rap your headers. Oil will soak into the rap and it WILL catch on fire! (Got some oil on my header rap and had flames flowing out of my hood driving down the interstate, cost me a set of taylor spark plug wires and some other misc. wires under my hood)
7. Do not trust what you hear on forums and do not trust what your hear at performance shops. (Have spent alot of money chaseing shadows because of tips I was given)
THIS STUFF MAY SOUND LIKE COMMON SENSE BUT IT HAPPEND TO ME AND I AM SURE THAT THIS LIST WILL GET LONGER AS DAYS GO BYE. I AM JUST TRYING TO HELP OUT FELLOW CAR INTHUSIESTS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO HELP!
