I have a video of the engine running but it's only a teaser.  Once the engine is actually in the car is when you will see it running for good.  It may take me a while to get the engine video up. Sorry for the inconvenience.  I only managed to take one pic in Ohio, sorry, I was super excited.

I'll take more pics on Thursday the 18th so you can see the engine after what I have done to it. I can't wait to get the Super StreetFighter Transmission from TCI.  I'll be kicking ass in no time. ;)

The engine that was originally in my Charger had A/C and that means it had a 4-groove crank pulley.  I am not sure about the water pump pulley.  Can anyone help me out? The factory literature shows a 1-groove but Yearone and Paddock Parts say 2. I'm so confused.  I have a 1-groove pulley but it doesn't fit. Wrong Style?

(6/14/2009 - 6/18/2009)

I took the engine out of the trailer and set it on the wooden stand that was made for us, with the help of my Dad and one of the landscapers my Mom hired. I got my plug wires, and my other goodies out of the back of our van and set them in the garage.

My Dad and I went to return the trailer and got the alternator he have tested. Like the starter it too PASSED!!!   So at home I mounted the carb, pluged in all the wires and got the crank pulley set up.  So I tried the water pump pulley. "Oh, dang it doesn't fit." ($10 down the tubes!) So that's a bust and the fan sits patiently waiting to sit in front of a pulley.

The next day is a parts day. I got my list and it's back to Pepboys.  I got a PCV Valve and Grommet, crank-water pump belt and an oil dipstick & tube.  Then off to NAPA auto parts for a fuel pump. When I get home I realize that the PCV grommet is made in Taiwan. I know this may not sound big but: come on! this is an AMERICAN car, it should have AMERICAN parts. This grommet is the only thing on the engine not made in the USA.

I know the PCV Valve is the wrong style, put more cost effective.

So the fuel pump came today and got bolted on.  Here we go again; part hunting. Now that I have the fuel pump I need a Vapor Separator and the hoses, fittings, and lines between it and the carb.  I'm so sick of the money spending.  It may come out of my parents' wallets now but I gotta pay them back every cent spent.

I have been sanding the body in an effort to reduce the media blasting costs.  Nothing but sanding this time. sorry it couldn't be much more.

Went to go see if the "Roadster Shop" in Mundelein, IL was worth the while.  The place does fabulous work but it's $90.00 an hour.  That's $40.00 more than "Performance Resorations" a few miles down the road.  I did get a quote for media blasting: $1,400.00.

(6/23/2009)

I contacted Roadster Shop's media blaster independently I got a quote $200.00 less.  Tim will be here tomorrow. Oh I never mentioned who they are. The company is: Motorsport Powdercoating in Delavan, Wisconsin.   Call (262)-740-2030.  I spent the rest of the day making a list of what needs to be taken off. Immediately I began to shorten it.

(6/24/2009-6/29/2009)

Not much has happened really.  Tim from MP came over and said that there is still alot to do in the neighborhood of parts removal. He said the axles need to come out and we have to build a rotiserri plus a set of carts  .I have taken out some of the fuel lines and got sprayed with stale gas. No just kidding about being sprayed. But there was stale gas.  The AC box has finally come out of the car and the firewall is cleaner.  The Steering coulmn has also come out.

Yesterday Rick Sarmento (Mr. Norms head mechanic) came over to see the Charger and talk to us about the restoration.  I really don't know waht to tell you but the way Rick acted was negative, to say the least.  He said it would take $50,000.00 to get the car back into shape (factory style). But anyways I still want to finish the restoration because it seems like such an incomperable amount.  It however could be possible as prices rise, and as I need more parts.

I might be going up to Delavan, Wisconsin to checkout Motorsport Powdercoating's operationa and see what kind of work they do.

(7/3/2009)

I got the windows out of the passenger side door.  I also got the door off.  But of course I couldn't have gotten this done without my Dad who helped me out.  Here are the pics.  I'll take more later.

Here is some stuff that will also be sent off to be media blasted.  The plie is alot bigger though.

Today my father and I removed the driver's door, door glass and the left quarter glass and regulator.  I also got the trunk springs off.  I put the lid back on the trunk to make some space in the garage.  I also found a cool pic of a T5 Copper Charger 500.

I figured it would be good to take pics of the only two stickers left on the car.

Today I got the right quarter window out of the car but not the regulator.  I however got the fender of of the driver side.  I need new splash sheilds and seals.

The Mouldings are off and the window regulator is also out.

This is the "thick edge" someone created when they filled a dent without doing any body work.

(7/8/2009)

I didn't get much done on the car today cause it was raining.  Everything left to be done requires that we push the car out of the garage.  However I did go back to the locksmith to get the keys I had dropped off on the 6th.

(7/9/2009)

Today we got the last window regulator arm out of the car.  I'm thinking of adding SIRIUS Satellite Radio to the Charger so I can listen to music when I can't get music on the regular radio.  I grabbed the antenna kit and checked the routing through the car.

(7/10/2009)

I got the paint samples I ordered a week or so ago today.  I chose four colors, R4, B5, T5, and F8.  I like T5 the best but I also really like B5 and F8.  I sprayed the R4. Ahh, it's OK but not my favorite.  Yeah yeah I know red is not the best but the thing peeled like tape.

I really didn't do anthing major with the car.  However I did clean up the garage.  I organized parts and put some in boxes according to the locatoin or major component (ie engine, trans, exterior).

(7/12/2009)

I sprayed the rest of the colors I chose.  I overall still like them all but, to choose one, I can say the visual aid reinforced my choice of T5.I sprayed the rest of the colors I chose.  I overall still like them all but, to choose one, I can say the visual aid reinforced my choice of T5.

I cleaned up the car today. I also labled more parts and then I removed the fuel lines.  I started to remove the brake lines.

I tried to test some electrical stuff also.  I got two 6 Volt batteries and hooked it up to some stuff and tried it out.

Lastly today I got my box of expendable parts and put some up for sale.  I need some money to get the car media blasted.  So I want to get some stuff sold to help fund the cause.

In the movie, the cars they used were actual california highway patrol cars. The visual interior differance is, no carpet, all vynal seats (no cloth) but luckly mines the same color so u dont really notcie. They had a 2nd dome light between the sunvisors, you can only really see it in the begining of the movie while thier driving around, before they jump the bridge. Also they had a certified 140mh speedo, civilians like mine only go to 120mph. The car in the movie had rust around the wheel lips in the front fenders. But from what ive seen they wernt totally rusted out.nice charger, 5 stars!-zac
