mr_Stang's 1963 Ford Econoline

Here are some pics of what my van looked like when I bought it. I haven't taken a lot of pics of it since because the body hasn't changed a lot (yet)

As you can see, it is a pretty straight and rust free 63 econoline pannel van, It is the short verion of the van, and doesn't have the side windows, which is a big plus for my end goal, which is to paint it with the myetery machine theme.  One unique aspect about this van is the extra window right behind the doors, not common on pannel vans that I have seen before.

The highlight of the van is the 302/c4 instead of the factory 6 cyl option (and 3 speed in these years). It isn't terribly complex to swap, but requires some dog house mods to make it fit right. Fortunately, this was done before I bought the van (and one of the main reasons why I bought it).

As you can see from the rear view, the motor sits right between the front seats, with the fan blades about level with your body. I was driving it around the yard with my hand on the carburator, running the throttle (because I didn't have a dog house yet).

This is the end goal I am shooting for. I found this pic on ebay a while back. I wasn't especially impressed with the vehicle (all stock), but I like the paint. Now, street rod the drivetrain a little, lower the front, put some pro street slicks on the back, now we are getting somewhere ;-)
