This is my new baby.

My girlfriend is already jealous.

DaFuzzTSU's 2000 Saturn SC-Series

For those of you who didn't catch the label in the link that got you here it is a 2000 Saturn SC-1

I got it in early september, and have started playing around with a few modifications.  My intent with this car is to touch it up, and make it really shine without being a total eye sore, and without blowing every dime that I have worked so hard for in the past several months.  Keep in mind I am in college, and was poor to begin with, so don't be expecting a $30,000 mod list or anything like that.

Modifications

          Exterior

Eyelids - carbon fiber look (self-made)

Tint - 35% all around, 50% windshield

Fuel Door - Painted Black

Trunk - Painted accent piece black

Rims - ADR SZ1 17"x7"

Tires - Nexen N7000 205/40ZR/17

Door Trim - Carbon Fiber applique

Emblems - Red to Black, now strictly black and chrome (self-made)

Marker Lights - clear conversion

Rear Reflector - Masked with CF

Head Lamps - Painted and covered to match home-made eyelids (self-made)

Head Lights - H.I.D. conversion

Fog Lights - L.E.D. Bars mounted just under headlights (wired in with headlight controls)

Brake Drums - painted red

          Interior

Pedals - Black and Chrome aftermarket

Shifter - Black and Chrome aftermarket

Gauges - White Face Conversion

Speakers - 6.5" Component Speaker System (rear)

Dash - Painted Black with Gloss Finish

          Performance

Short Shifter - Shortened factory shift lever by approx. 2" (self-made)

CAI - Short Ram CAI

Front Strut Tower Brace - Polished Aluminum

              Engine

 Valve Cover - painted red

Exterior

This view shows my home-made eyelids and headlight covers pretty well

(they were added to seal up some rust repair on the front edge of the hood)

I'm still not certain how I feel about them, so feel free to comment on them positive or negative.

Here are the headlights on low beams, you can see the "white" bulbs in the clear corners and turns, and the super-blue lights in the headlamps.

Here's another view of low beam headlights

DaFuzzTSU's 2000 Saturn SC-Series

Here's a head-on view of the high beams.  They're pretty cool, but a little heavy on the blue.  It really distorts the coloring of things, and out in the country at night it seems a little dangerous.

These are the new painted drums.  As soon as I can scrape up some cash there will be new rotors and calipers up front painted to match.

Here is a closer view of the modified emblems.

(yes I know my car is dirty, I'll get to it I swear)

and on with the tour...

Here you can see my door frame applique

(which was really just an easy way to seal up some rust repair work)

And then a little bit closer here.

And now back to random exterior shots...

Interior

My first photo documented interior mod is my short shifter.

Here are the "transitional" photos

Here is the shifter at factory length.

Here is my new super-special non-factory length shifter.  I know, I know, it's just so amazing.

Here is my home-made short shifter, after I had re-installed the console, and cleaned up the mess.

 Engine

DaFuzzTSU's 2000 Saturn SC-Series

Here you can see my random engine mods.  As of yet they are few and weak, mostly due to the fact that I am almost flat broke at this time

This shows a good picture of my newly painted valve cover.  It's nothing terribly special, but it is painted to match the brakes I just put on recently, and I hand painted the lettering, and a couple of other highlights.

So, after looking at these pictures a little bit it looks like my valve covers are hard-core photo-shopped.  I'll try to get a good daytime shot so it doesn't look so weird.

So, thanks for stopping by, please feel free to comment, rate, and vote and I'll try to return the favor.

Toodles! :)

hey buddy yea i have the saturn motorsports dog bone polyurethane motor mounts i don't find the viberations too bad but as for acceleration it doesn't improve that much its just a stronger mount for ur engine which causes it to rock less, the only reason i got them was because i got them for free for placing in a saturn car show i won a gift certificate for the amount of those mounts and got em free i think they are pretty nice though man!!!

I really like your home-made eyelids and headlight covers, Do you mind if I use that idea on my Saturn. And what is the type of headlights are you using, I have been looking for that type of bulbs for my ride. Your home-made short shifter looks cool too man, good idea, to bad mines an automatic. 5*

ya know, i really appreciate that comment, and i thank you very much, not to mention you are so right. so thank you :] i have soo many finances right now from school to bills, and affording to put anything on my car is like last on my list cause i simply cant afford it. but i do love what you have done with your ride! the headlight covers look great, and so do the rims. we've had a heatwave here in ohio of 40-50 degrees! i found myself breakin out the shorts and tee shirts haha. but let me know when you get some more done with your car and ill check back :] 5* !

you're right bro, they do look the same. but i thought they changed the look of the sc1/2 in 2000. i unfortunately dont have the car anymore though, it was destroyed, but shortyly there after i found a few pairs of those side marker lights for my car on ebay. great timing huh? aside from the tail lights, its the main thing i wanted to change.
