This is the truck in the fall of 2006. This was after the engine, transmission, and new axles were installed. At this point I was just working on the kinks in the system. This was the beginning of a long journey of tying up loose ends. There were alot of loose ends in this project, anybodys first project is going to have alot things go wrong!

The 14 bolt axle originally came with big drum brakes that weighed 75lbs per side! Those are now at the bottom of Lake Powell! The chain snapped while I was using them as an anchor! I found the brackets for the calipers on http://www.jkwoffroad.com/offroadproducts.php. Once I got those all I needed to get were calipers and rotors. They are identical to the ones on the front axle.

This is the engine after I got a new intake and carburetor. It used to have a stock intake and a Rochester Quadrajet. I attempted to rebuild the Rochester but that was one of those loose ends I was talking about! The new intake is a Weiand and the new carburetor is a Holley 4160 650 CFM. I didnt go with edelbrock because edelbrock is cliche! I got a new exhaust system for the truck and it is a reproduction of an original, so i needed to get ram horn manifolds!

This is the truck in the early spring of 2008. I hadn't moved it in over 6 months. At the time it was being used as another place for my moms junk!

More updates are soon to come!
