I decided to build one more car to race and I also decided to try road racing. I have Circle track raced, drag raced, street raced, and believe it or not raced lawnmowers.

I have always loved Camaro's and have owned a few in my life. With the price of the classics I started to look around and found this IROC. I have owned other third gens but never an IROC. This car was pretty trashed having had an after market sound system installed by a bunch of monkeys. The engine was torn apart and missing the TPI unit along with the exhuast manifolds. The Ecm was laying on the floor and wires hanging out of every crack in the dash, well you get the picture. This car was a perfect candidate to be a race car. One thing led to another so I gutted it out, (did you know that an IROC interior fills up a pick up truck bed ) and hauled it all to the dump. A friend bent the cage and we welded it in.

I removed the engine and auto trans and started over. The engine was worked over and a 5 speed transmission conversion was done. The engine was bored, balanced, and a few after market parts were installed. I decided not to use the fuel injection system and the ECM. So a Edelbrock Victor Jr and a Barry Grant Speed Demon 750 cfm was the choice. Crane hydraulic roller cam, flat top pistons and Comp Cams roller tip 1.52 rocker arms. The heads are ported and polished with 2.02 and 1.60 valves. We are around 10.5 to 1. The stock fuel pump was used as it was enough to feed the mouse. I am still working on the suspension. I am not sure whats coming but I do know that something will. Stayed tuned for updates.

Hope to be racing soon! Been a long time building still not even close too what I want, but I guess next season I will take what ever I have completed to the track.

Got strut Brace installed Last night. Pretty beefy unit, I was impressed. Install was simple since the hood was missing.
