Hi there,
This is my second personal car project and it should be the most exciting yet. After building my Vauxhall Nova into a proper 2.0ltr sleeper, a little more than a year ago I decided to upgrade to a modern, bigger car. Japanese sports cars were the obvious choice and after going through the many choices, I sourced a Celica GTS from Japan with a standard, 1.8 VVTl-i engine developing a healthy 189 bhp.
The first change I made was the body kit, rims and tyres. Celicas are 'ok' looking but the full TRD body kit and spoiler made it look much more aggressive. Standard wheels also had to be changed so on came a set of 17" light-weight alloy Weddsport rims covered with Pirelli tyres.
Having sorted the styling of the car and enjoyed all that I could from what the standard performace offered (which is pretty good - valve lift at 6,800 rpm is beautiful) my attention switched to performance. The first thing I needed to do was to help the car breath easier so off came the standard air-box and replaced with the Blitz Sonic Power induction kit (as below)
