I have a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 AKA Mitsubishi GTO, the car is a lil heavy but def underrated! I started out with the twin of the 3000GT, the Dodge Stealth N/A. It was a great reliable car but i was dying for the power and control of the 3000GT VR-4. So I bought it. I still have yet to lose a race, the new V6 Eclipse, my friend has an 03 EVO with a turbo back exhaust and i still take him buy a few car lengths, the new Mustang GT, SRT8 Jeep, Stage 3 Supercharged Cobalt, the list goes on...
A lil info on the 3000GT VR-4
1991 import car of the year! The stock 3000GT has 320hp to the crank with a 0-60 time anywhere between 5.3 to 5.8 seconds depending on where you live. The engine is a transverse-mounted DOHC 3.0 liter V-6 with twin TD-04 turbo chargers pushing 10.1 -psi boost which are supported with twin intercoolers. The car has all wheel drive with a 45/55% torque split (45% of the power is to the front and 55% of the power is to the rear) The VR-4 has a sleeve shaft called a VCU that supplies power to the front differencial, and a concentric solid shaft directs power to the rear limited-slip differential. When the VCU senses a difference in rotational speeds of the front and rear wheels, more torque is sent to the slower wheels, the ones getting more traction. To add to that, the VR-4 has all wheel steering(rear wheels turn 1.5 degrees in the same direction as the front) The VR-4 also has Active Areo (wing raises and a peice under the front bumper drops down) allowing more downforce, kicking in at 40mph. The suspension is stiff to begin with but still comfortable and smooth, that is, if you dont have it in sport mode. Sensors monitor steering angle, throttle position, and brake pedal application send messages to stiffen the suspension. G-senors monitor up and down motions such as bumpy roads, it softens the damping. You can push the ECS (electronic controlled suspension) button which switches the suspension from tour to sport. Tour and sport mode exhaust is present which is for the most part, ment to quiet the cars exhaust (tour) and allow it to be louder (sport). The VR-4 comes with climate control, electronic everything, leather seats, cruise control, and more. The driver seat can "inflate" and "deflate" in the back and can be adjusted to close around you and it electronically tilts and moves backwards and forewards. The rear seats are pretty much pointless for passengers unless they are super small. The real reason for the rear seats being installed are for insurance purposes making the car a passenger car instead of a sports car.
