as said we bought it back in 98 well one of my older brothers did and it was driven till mid 99 and we pulled the motor and trans to rebuild them.while doing so we were tild several times that it was not a true 442 because it has a 350 rocket and a th400 auto trans so we ran the vin and it is a true 442 and was ordered as an auto the motor we are pretty sure its been changed but couldnt find out if it was a 350 from the factory or larger.it then sat covered for 2 years without a drive train due to needing a piston and having trouble finding one we finally got a blown motor from someone and were able to get a good pitson aswell as 5 extras and an extra top end we put the motor and trans back in in early summer of 2001 and were pleased that it ran like a champ and shifted beautiful then came to a problem that resulted in my oldest brother taking over because the other had borrowed money to buy it and was unable to pay him back and he had lost interest so it was mover from our parents house to his andit sat for about a year with a blown rear brakeline the we replaced both lines across the axle and both wheel cylinders and he decided he wanted to remove the interior because the headliner was ripped and he wanted to replace the carpet and put in buckets and a center console to replace the bench front seat then had other things come up so till mid last month (august 2008) when we pulled it out only to doscover the main rear brakeline went and the o ring that seals the speedometer went bad and was leaking.up till we pulled it out he had started it twice a year and pulled it out twice so things going bad from sitting was expected.we found out shortly after it was bought that it was an old boces auto body class project and the quarter panels prove it weve figured out they are roughly a half inch thick from top to bottom and from the door back to the bumper of bondo and fiberglass looking in the trunk we seen that the quarters were mostly intcat and the bottoms and wheel wells had had rust so we were not happy and seen they had replaced the floor pans and just pretty much wedged them in threw a few welds on them.the pictures were the day we pulled it out after it had had 6 inches of dust and grime washed off of it.the motor and trans have had no mods or upgrades aside from chrome valve covers and an edelbrock air cleaner.more updates as soon we get something done.
