This is 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.
I just bought this Jeep about 2 weeks ago... I needed something to drive back and forth to school and work after I sold my 1983 Mustang GT.
(my old Mustang)
I didn't have much money to spend, since most of what I made over the summer was spent on gas and random parts to keep the Mustang on the road, so I kept looking on craiglist for about a week until I stumbled across the Jeep you see here.
What's wierd is that my mom actually sent me the link to the Jeep, and she even set up a time to go and see it when I was at work. My parents were going to bring it home for me on the Sunday night before Labor Day, so it would be at my house when I got home from work, but the girl was not ready to sell it just yet. All of her belongings were still in it, and the title still needed to be signed by her father, who was working a night job about 30 minutes away. Anyway, an offer was made, and my parents came back home, Jeep-less.
These are the pictures that my parents had to show me of the Jeep that was soon to be mine...

The next morning, the phone rang, the girl had taken the offer, and cleaned it out, it was ready to come home!
So my dad and I took my mom's Jeep, a '98 Limited with a 318 all the way out to Stamford, about an hour and twenty minutes from my house to pick up my new baby.
After over an hour of driving on I-95.... we finally made it there.....

The two Jeeps in the driveway.

The Jeep was surprisingly well taken care of...... it had been in the same family since it was bought new in 1996, and only had 134,230 miles on it..... The front fender was smashed up, along with the bumper cover and the driver's side front headlight, the Jeep had been hit a while back in a minor traffic accident, but that didn't matter, since the title was still clean, and it's only a matter of getting the parts from the local Junkyard...... I knew from the minute I saw it that I liked it. I knew it was the beginning of something special....
It had a lot of stickers. There were even more on the passenger side too.

Anyway, once the papers were signed, and the cash and keys were exchanged, we headed home with it. Back on the highway after a quick stop at the gas station to put some fuel in, and we cruised back pretty comfortably.

The damage isn't that bad. I drive it everyday as it is and it's still pretty presentable, my friends actually like it a lot more than the Mustang, and all of the other trucks I've had.

The color is pretty nice. I want to wax it up and see how it looks then, but I can't find a good wax. I used to use California Gold from Mothers but that killed the paint on my Mustang, so now I don't know what to try.

The "good side"...
