so i bought a mazda mx6 in august of 2008 for 500 dollars canadian at an impound lot the car had 262xxx kilometers on the clock and needed a clutch and a water pump, when the water pump is out you pretty much have to change the timing belt to so i opted to spend that money on a new engine. so i called up JDM Source and bought a 2.5L KL-ZE they were very helpful especially since i didn't really know what i was doing they gave me some pointers and told me what i needed to keep off of my KL-DE and then delivered it to my house i would recommend them to anyone who is interested in anything JDM  in Calgary

here are a few pictures of the car before i started the engine pullamogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6amogog's 1997 Mazda MX-6

A couple dents and a little surface rust bun nothing i cant handle as an amateur mechanic / Body Man

when i first opened the hood i got a real shocker

now i know why he wanted to get rid of it so bad

dose anyone know the number for child services

no im just kidding everything under the hood seemed to be ok except you could see that the water pump had defiantly broken as there was some signs that water had been around the belts

Looking good man but i think you might have a minor problem where did you get the motor from did it not come with an intake? cause if that the intake that came with the motor you may just have a DE you can pull the valve cover and check the cams to read if they say KL31 if not you need to get on whoever you got the motor from. But besides that she is looking good.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but you either ended up with a ZE with a DE manifold or just another DE...look at the link I posted for you below, it shows you how to check, but you do have the DE manifold. Car looks good though man, thats the colour I wanted when I bought mine, but there was only 3 or 4 on the market at the time, its hard to find these cars in decent shape. But yah, check that link out and let me know what you find. -Grant http://www.mx6.com/forums/united-kingdom-ireland/174739-klze-identification-how.html

Nice MX6 and a good deal too. I have been pondering about the KLZE swap myself but kind of unsure. I need to do the timing belt and water pump and after being told it's about a $800+ replacement cost.. I am tempted to start looking more into the KLZE.. :P Looks great, nice colour ;) I have rust in the same spot but mine is a bit worse.. keep up the great work, can't wait to see more! Check out my 6. 5 stars.
