I have a 86' Yota with a GM 350. It has a 6" suspension list with 36" swampers. I just recently got the truck and dont know much about it. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas of how to get my truck to flex more. I notice everyones yota gettin all twisted on rocks with the same height of lift i have. Mine will not do that. I have the independent front end and i believe the stock toyota rear. Front what I see most people are runnin the straight axle in the front. Also I do not believe the front or rear is locked. How can i tell if they are? I will be posting pictures of the under carrage soon so people can evaluate. Thank you to anyone who helps.

u need a solid axle to flex good. check out the FAQ on truck and 4runner forum on http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/ lots of reading. u gota do it. what is your lift? to get your rear flexing better use chevy or ford leaf springs, i bet you have blocks now. ditch em.

One quick way to see if your diffs are locked is to lift tires off the ground (in Neutral) and spin one. If the other side spins the opposite most likely it is open diff. If they spin the same way you may have a locker of some sort. Ya if flex is what you want then solid axle. Or at least remove the sway bars on the IFS
