Here's what the engine looks like after all these years. Virtually everything was new in the engine compartment and I had racked up almost 500 miles before I put it into storage. The engine started as a balanced and blue-printed short block to which I added Mondello heads, Crane solid roller cam with rev-kit, and an Edelbrock Tarantula manifold with a Holley 950 cfm 3-barrel. It was barely streetable back then using Sunoco 260 (104 Octane ) gas, but it had enough power to get into the 12's. It was certainly capable of better, but I never had the opportunity to sort it out.
