My Engine Detailing project....... GM got the LS1 engine right but left a lot to be desired on the 4th Gen cars as far as the engine compartment goes visually. So I spent many hours under the hood trying to make the engine compartment something to look at.
But to make the engine compartment look clean I had to remove everything except the motor and spray paint the inner fenders to get them glossy. Then I relocated all the ugly ground wires and hid the wiring harness, hood latch cable, and air hose inside the inner fenders.
I then added some blue annodized washer accents, chrome hole plugs, and polished socket head screws throughout the engine bay. Then topped it off with some MBA billet covers for the radiator, power steering, and oil caps. I then topped it off with a polished aluminum Hotchkis strut tower brace.
I am no longer embarrased to "pop the hood" when asked to do so.
