03 July 09:

It may be time to create a new page for the new car.  I will delete this over time. I will be removing the motor to sell somewhere.  Believe it or not, the car still runs.   I can drive it down the road.  Tough little car.

03 MARCH 2009:

Ok winter is still here and I haven't had an update since the snow started falling.  there has been some ups and downs this winter.  Winter is hard on a car in the north country of NEW YORK.

I need to replace the tie rods ends.  One has gone bad.  Passenger side hub assembly is in need of replacement.  And the two rear dampners took a vicious pot hole and they were toast. Two front tires are in order also.

The primer job held up very well over the winter with minimal rust through.  I know now where to concentrate efforts to prevent bleed through for the paint job this summer.

I have purchase new replacements for the above minuse hub assembly.  These wear out often, there must be a better  hub sold by someone that will last longer that a year.  But then again, it's under alot of stress constantly.

18 SEPT 2007:  Ok, I have been sanding and sanding and sanding.

I have continued sanding.  Almost done.  it's real tedious work, but I like it.  I wll have some pictures shortly.

Oh, I am changing bulbs to Blue to accent the coming paint job.  Now the lights will have THAT look.  I have come to realize the ebay Xenons don't get as blue as I would like.   Looks like some HID 10000K are in my future.

01 OCT 2008:  I got some Euro Dezigns off ebay.  8500K.  They are brighter than stock.  With a slight bluish hue.  I would like more blue.

11 OCT 2008:    Pictures added of the car in red primer.

19 OCT 2008:    Grey sealer, 1st coat applied.  More sanding.

24 OCT 2008:    New Shocks installed.  Tokico  HP Blues.  Rear only.

8500K Blue Xenon on Low Beams

Tire Change.  195's in front.  215's in rear.  More

Aggressive appearance.  That's all that is.

                           Installed the spoiler.

30 OCT 2008:   My garage is close for the season.  SNOW....Deep Snow.

Therefore, "Cav2.4"  has reached it's target goal.  In primer before the snow falls. Here are some pictures of the semi finished product.

01 NOV 2008:   Upgrades to the existing exhaust as begun.  This will be the legitimate install complete with cat.

The pipe will maintain a 2" piping throughout.  6" flex pipe will connect to the header.  Behind that is the Cat.  High Flow with O2 bung.  Behind that will go a glasspack as the resonator.  Since I am in no rush to install on the current  exhaust, I will do some research on resonators and glasspacks.    Thrush, Dynomax, Cherry Bomb, Magnaflow, something....

I was thinking about a muffler.  I like the 3A racing can.  But this will be an opportunity to try another combination.

Regardless of what muffler is chosen the parts chosen below are for "CAV2.4".

I never got to install this setup.  Now it will go on ebay.  My lost will be someones gain.  Cat and flex pipe.  Daaammmnnnn!

04 NOV 2008:   Interior effects were due.  Real simple stuff that required some taking things apart.   I now have Blue LED floor lamps, and the Heat/AC lighting were replaced with Blue LEDS.  All this was done by hand.    LEDs were purchased at SuperBriteLEDs.com

The blue painted bezel was a last minute thought. I like it.

I live in a high salt in winter area.  I have to do what I can to slow the rusting.  The rust inhibitor is a step for extra protection.  Can't completely stop rust without cutting it out, but I can try and slow it down a bit.

The Cav made it through the winter, black ice, snow storms, and other foul weather, to only wind up smashed. Dammmmn, I didn't get the chance to paint it. Now all those parts have to be salvaged before it heads off to the junk yard. You know, header, exhaust, lowering spring, audio components, even the spark plug springs. I am trying to acquire a 98 Z24. Goodness knows I have nuff parts. Drilled rotors, kevlar braks pads. Well, it went on good, it will come off good. The season is open and I am looking for another Cav.
