First time getting it detailed....
First time seeing the car in person....
Before the DVD_ TV install (done myself).....
The 6.5' TV/DVD/SD card reader, was originally installed in my 1999 gold Catera... the wire harness kit is actually very hard to find in The D (for some reason), but it let's you keep the factory speakers, warning bell, & factory Bose amp! (On- Star also, if equipped) $120 for the kit, another $15- $20 bucks for the bezel.... Wanna upgrade to 7' w/ built - in nav.
..........................................UPDATE...........................................
NEW pics of the install I did with the IVA W-505 multimedia head unit......
The box to the far top left is the PAC unit that allows you to keep your factory Bose amp & speakers.
I decided to remove the factory CD changer in the armrest. I will add PS2 in that opening. Also ran the iphone/ipod usb cord under the shifter trim & into that pocket also.
This is the cord the plugs in back of the head unit for USB or Ipod connections. You can run a 80G harddrive off this also.
Install complete. I suggest having someone fabricate a bezel that looks like the OEM & it will also fit & look factory. Thsi bezel is cut from the single DIN bezel.
Remote on the right is the included remote (buttons are too small... doesn't compliment the unit in my opinion), & the remote on the left is a universal aftermarket by Alpine... comes with button illumination & toggle stick.
Upgrades I will be adding to the unit: Wanted the HID's but they don't make them for the bumper, so I decided to go bright whites on all the lights..... Also added 12' Alpine Type R subwoofer & 600.1 Alpine amp... very clean sound!
factory chrome gone! 22' rims compliments of Akuza. I believe they are called, Kool Whip..... (I'll get the rim names together, in a min.) Inserts on rims still need to be painted same color as car. Rims wrapped in Lexani tires.... wouldn't mind steppin up to 23' rims... same tires & rims... so I may be lettin these go also!
Both whips at the crib... just wipped down & backin into the garage...
................................Update 2........................
Finally got around to getting the calipers & inserts painted. Didn't like the outcome of the inserts, so I took them off, sanded them, & resprayed them myself. (didn't know they just used enamel spray anyhow!) The inserts color was too dark because they didn't prime them first. This is the result once I did them over...

After waiting 2 weeks for Chrome B pillars to come in from Dalgliesh Cadillac, I told them I didn't want them. Once I returned from a road trip to Indiana, I called to get my refund & the pillars had arrived!
Pic of new Nav. in action on my way to Indianapolis, IN. Tried the Blackbird Nav in the unit for one day, but, it just didn't seem too compatible with the unit. So I swapped it out for the NVE-P1 navigation (brain only) version. It's glitchy sometimes.... It will blank out or the unit won't recognize that it's in, but it's a pretty good addition... Voice talks too much! lol!
Upgrades I still need to add:
HD Radio
Sirius satellite radio
Imprint sound EQ
