The night I brought it home...                                     Current...

After having been without a car for a few months, I managed to locate this '91 Talon. The owner wanted $600 and said he thought the head needed replaced and the oil pump was going bad. The body was in really good shape for its age, and the interior seemed to be complete. Still without being able to test drive it before hand, I offered him $375 for the car and $100 for the extra parts he had. That's right... a total of $475 for the car, a brand new head (fully assembled), and a new set of guages (they will soon be on ebay). With the help of a friend, I managed to get the car home.

The car was a wreck when I got a hold of it. Somebody went spray crazy with some baby blue metallic and flat white on the interior. It also had a few mini truck items mixed in (tribal pedal covers, and a billet antenna). Who could forget the thumbtacks holding up the headliner material? A big pile of parts in the hatch area, and a handful of screws in the console... I guess they forgot to mention some assembly required. Let's not forget the non-running condition of the engine. And so the work began...

--- New Update ---

Just picked up a 92 TSi with a bad knock and broken windshield. Out of the 2, I will be creating 1 whole car, all parts and fasteners will be there. May sell what's left, or keep it to have fun with.

Update on engine situation...

After battling with timing issues for months, it finally happened. 3 valves got bent to the point the car ran like shit. So, only thing to do was tear it apart and see what I could do. While it was apart, the full a/c system was removed, as was the EGR, and other pointless crap. Less weight, more power, and the satisfation of knowing that the compression test results were ~170 across the board. Can't complain too much. Also think the coolant leak should be taken care of, as well as the minor oil leak from the valve cover gasket. Hope to have it back together and driveable by Saturday.
