Hi, I bought this car in July 2006 for 1000$.

I did lots of work in  this car - exhaust manifold/exhaust pipe, alternator - replaced with rebuilded one, battery replaced ( Inerstate green 1000 cranks), ball joints - front, rear axel, front axel etc, etc.. Just replaced starter today. My parents  had the same car in 1994 - was brand new, since then I became a Jeep enthusiast :-)

I live in Toronto, Canada. Would like to meet Jeep owners with similar model as mine for info exchange regarding repairs/maintanance. My car still need attention as I want it to look and drive like new and ready to invest $. First of all I need to rebuilt engine and tranny. I really need to know is there any reliable PROFESSIONAL Jeep specialist in Toronto who can do it ? Is anyone have a suggestion what can be done to do engine/tranny reliable and not to waist money on low quality rebuilt/parts ? I know that there is tons of garages and shops around who do "rebuilt", but I am aware that not everybody does it good.

The engine milage is 360 000, and it started to consume oil (1l/month I add), also it leaks - just a bit - not too much. Tranny is leaking a bit too - - I degreased it and applyed red sealer from the outside - now it is much better but still tranny sleeppery sometimes, but not all the time.

Also the steering wheel is not streight - a bit goes right, it is not affecting driving, but still annoing. I have been told to chaNGE THE COLUMN - ALL OF IT. Any suggestions anyone? :-)

Also - shoks are kind of worn - looks very rusted and car became very sensitive to road bumps etc.

Any suggestion what kind of decent priced shocks I could get for it ?

Also my car has rusted spots - all over the edges - doors/hood, underbody.

Wheel disks started to corrode - it is alumnium - clear coated. I am wondering what can I get to clean those and clearcoat it  myself...

I am single mom on the budget, will appreciate any advices how to make this car beutifull again without spending a fortune...

i DID WELDED /painted lots of rusted spots, did all doors and hood, all by myself ( except welding). Now my car have absolutely no rust spots on a body or underbody. I am very proud of myself :-)) Pix will come when i wash and polish my car :-))
