Just bought a 1993 Lexus SC300 about a week ago (8-17-08). Sorry for the picture- as soon as I found this site I wanted to start my page, plus post comments, so I threw this picture up of a Cobra Replica I had taken a few weeks back but pictures of the Lexus will be coming soon. Anyway back to the matter at hand; the Lexus has 125,000 miles on it and I paid $5000 for it in a private party transaction. The car is immaculate, well maintained, lots of records, super clean. I figured what's the worst I could get ripped off for $5000? But I thought I'd ask the public in general too. Did I get ripped off? Like I said, pictures coming ASAP and the more I read about Lexus (my first one, always been a muscle car kind of guy) and the SC class in particular, the more I like it! (Sometimes)high horsepower in a pretty luxurious car that's a two door and RWD! Sign me up. Let's see, the Lexus I just bought is white, 12 disc CD with satelite, all power (probably standard? like I said, just learning) and an automatic which I hear the vast majority of 300's were. Maybe someone could let me know if that's true as well. Also, how easy is it to swap the inline 6 that comes with the 300 for the V8 that comes in the 400? Price? What about the 'Soarer' engine I keep reading about? What's the deal with that? Japanese version have more power? I'm verty green when it comes to the whole new school import set. Still like '70 Cudas etc but who says you can't like both?
