FRSGUMP's 1976 Plymouth VolareThis one had a 318 automatic and was one of my most reliable cars.  I gave it to my stepson for graduation.  All my Harley riding buds liked the paint scheeme I put on it.  Had 76 Mercedes wirespoke caps on it.  It once had baby moons on chrome reverse rims.  Last I knew,,,,it got impounded and was in Denver's impound lot.  In 1985 I took a vacation trip to California in this car.  We went up I-5 and came back down the coast on the "Coastal Highway".  Drove across east just above the Mexican border (highway 8 I believe) and back north to Denver by way of I-25.  Even took it down the 'Strip' in Las Vegas and around the fountain at Circus Circus and Ceasar's Palace.  Man, did we ever get the 'looks' in this car.  I remember having to change a fuel pump in a K-Mart parking lot in Hollywood.  Strange characters out there at that time anyway.  Just about stepped on a scorpion going thru Arizona.  It was like one of those "National Lampoon/Chevy Chase style" vacations (if you know what I mean)?  Wished I still had this one today.FRSGUMP's 1976 Plymouth VolareMy Volare was all silver paint originally with a maroon vynle top. The top was pretty ragged when I bought the car and someone had big spots of grey primer around the bottom of the car. I don't know why though, there was no bodywork done on it, just sanded and primed. I had a new black vynle top put on and all the other black paint you see, I did myself with spray paint. It didn't look bad at night or in the rain, but you could tell I used spray paint in the sunshine. The interior was maroon also.  I also put a set of air shocks on it.

My parents had a 1976 Volare Station Wagon. Dad decided to trade in the '68 Charger he had, which I was brought home from the hospital in, for the Volare since he needed a "Family Car." The car was pretty reliable even though it liked to stall once in a while, nad it always had a tiny oil leak. I learned to drive in the car before they finally got rid of it. By the way, Dad wishes he kept the '68 Charger.
