Hey, I'm JOSH! & back in July of 2007 I purchased a bone stock 1994 2.2L Toyota Camry.

Unfortunately for me, getting into feverish research of import high performance vehicles came very soon after purchasing this car.

Now I am left with an 18 second 1/4 mile car, going to school, not making a whole bunch of cash, and a MAJOR desire to have something hot, low, and turbo =-D

The Camry is:

FWD, AUTOMATIC, & heavy. (Needs to be FWD, 5spd, & lighter)

Ridiculously reliable.

Safe, and easy to drive.

In need of a turbocharger.

Me:

I am 21 years old and going to school to become an Elementary School Teacher. I love females, I love food, driving, cars, guitar, music, film, etc.

I am a MAJOR DIY dude. I haven't spent a lot of money on the Camry and I'd like to keep it that way.

I went through a phase (and probably still will) where I found it awesome making a new type of intake almost every few months! So... I'll go it process and show you guys my different setups.

First ever setup:

Jcamry94's 1994 Toyota Camry

As you can see the filter and flexitube were strategically placed within inches of the hottest part of the engine bay, thus creating a hot air intake XD

Next came my first full blown CAI:

From the TB down to where some stock intake hoses were...

Leading the Flexitube to the correct place for cold air this time!

Down into the wheel well...

To the Filter...

... to the bumper for nice fresh air!

So after I did this I grabbed my cell phone and took a sideways video of it on the street behind my house...

Crappy, terribly filmed vid of this setup (turn up your speakers!) LOL:

My next setup was just an SRI from AUTOZONE and a TB Spacer from Helix...

This video was made when I was selling the setup :-D

Shortly after this SRI setup I did another one, fully AEM'd out SRI...

This one had the Helix TBS, 3" pipes leading to a 4" pipe, leading to an AEM Pro Filter, covered by a custom heat shield (made with PVC plumbing). There was also metal dryer hose in the bumper that routed cold air to the filter! Elaborate I know hah...

Next came ANOTHER legit Cold Air Intake, but this time more professional looking...

2.5" PVC pipes were used. They fit the 5s-fe's Throttle perfectly! The sound was not as deep as the previous setup (SRI) and sounded more similiar to my first CAI setup, except more tame. I used a huge 9" High-Flow Filter on the end of it!

And then! My final setup which I will keep for a long while is a basic Short Ram Intake with 4" pipes led to a 9" Fliter, cupped by the dryer hose in my bumper!

Performance AND sound-wise I prefer the current short ram to any of my other setups! At speed it really had a sharp gain in throttle response and it is by far the deepest and strongest tone of all the setups! Vid Coming soon... :)

Current mods and pics!

First came the Apexi N1 style 4" Cannon w/JDM Offset

Then the rims/tires: (yes they are mismatched, yes they were bought from a junker and refurb by ME for a CHEAP DIY)

17 x 7.5" on 215/50/17 rubber

Also seen in that ^ pic ^ are my Clear Corners, New Fog Lights, DEPO Crystal Headlights & Sylvania Silverstar Low Beams! Woo

Then came some Ricer-Red paint! =-P
