|THE 2.0|

It is my first car. The story behind why my "first car" is called "The 2.0" goes like this: My uncle was planning on getting rid of his old '92 Accord LX which was in pretty bad shape by the way (unsellable) So I offered to take it off his hands so I can get it running in my auto tech class at school. After some minor repairs on "The 1.0" the '92 did get up and running but there was many things that needed to be done before it was legal to drive (inspected). In the end my '92 was accidentally towed because neighbors mistook it as an abandoned car. It wasn't worth the money to get it released, so it was left (and probably resold as a repossessed car). This was all before I was even licensed so I couldn't really drive it.
After losing the '92 and being unlicensed for some time I was on a consant search for a new car by checking multiple dealerships, online websites, etc. After many possiblilities came and went for whatever reason I came across this '96 Accord LX Coupe with a "For Sale" sign in the window near my house. After speaking with the previous owner of the car and then my father for a loan I purchased the car for $2900, which I am in the process of paying back to my father monthly. It was great deal since similar Hondas run easily $4000+ in my area! It needed a few minor repairs such as the drivers side window not going back up, replacing a dead battery, and having the rack and pinion boot replaced. A short time later I finally became licensed and have just been driving ever since. So basically the '96 (The 2.0) has been considered my first car.
I plan on adding some performance upgrades such as a short ram intake, exhaust manifold (headers), springs but not too much. I want to have the color changed to a metallic black and some silver Falken Hanabi rims and low profile tires. I want to keep the exterior look simple and sleek. Maybe some better head and tail lights and cat back exhaust but not too much else.

More info/pictures to come on the car as I continue to work on it...
