Here are some pictures of my NONSUV 4Runner. Thanks for all your kind comments!

Before I got the 88 4Runner, I had a Forest Green 96 4Runner, But I really wanted the 1st gen with removable top. So I purcahsed an 88 4Runner in 2000 and shortly after sold the 96. The silver paint was oxidized, but there was no rust. I do miss the extra power and rear doors the 96 4Runner had, but I really like the soft top!

Below is the 96 4Runner at the Rubicon Trail Tahoe Side. I did not make it in too far, but I was able to make it to Miller Lake for a little Kayaking

One of my first modifications was to add Smitty Built Tubes, ARB Bull Bar and a ProComp 4-inch suspension lift.

I hated the shocks that came with the ProComp Lift Kit. It was so hard that it gave me headaches when I drove. So I replaced the shocks with Racho 9000 adjustable shocks. They made the ride so much better.

Next Modification was a CanBack Soft Top, Yakima Mega Warrior Rack and a Warn M8000 Winch.

Next I wanted to paint my "NONSUV". It was a toss up between a Crayon Color Dark Green or the Nissan XTerra "Solar Yellow". As you can see I went with the yellow.

After driving around for a while and especially while towing, I noticed the auto tranny would get very hot. The floor boards would also get hot while wheeling. I decided to add an extra Hayden Tranny cooler and I also did a 3" body lift from 4Crawler . Moving the transmission away from the body made things so much cooler under my seats! The problem with the body lift though, was that the top of ARB Bull Bar was now sitting in front of my head lights. So I decide to go with All-Pro armor around the 4Runner and I welded some extra diamond plating to the front bumper clean it up.

Here are the modifications with some links:
* Customized ALLPRO winch bumper with Warn M8000 Winch
* Hella headlights and Hella 500 spot lights
* Hella twin horn (much better than the wimpy stock horn) Best Modification Yet!!!!

* Re-geared differentails to 5.29

lol, call it what u will, looks like an SUV to me...I'm from New England; I've seen snowbanks higher than a school bus's roof on both sides of a 1 lane road before (almost EVERY road is 1 lane during a New England winter), I've seen Hail larger than golf balls, I've seen Lightning flash behind snowflakes, I've seen weather worse than Plagues described in the Bible, LOL...

My first experiences off roading were in a 1st gen 4runner. Love what you've done w/ this one. Yellow was good color choice. We have a yellow wrangler in our group and I've noticed it stands out the most in pics, green woulda blended in the scenery too much. I hope to get one someday
