UPDATE: My car got hit and now I'm installing a widebody kit. Page 2 has the details!!!

  Gota260Z's 1974 Datsun 260Z

I bought this car when I was 15 with the intent of learning how to work on cars. Now, 7 years later, I have learned a lot and I have spent much more money than I wish to count.

When I bought the car it needed some maintenance but was a generally unmolested car, and I sure changed that in a hurry. The shocks were done so I pulled everything out, sanded, painted the suspension, and replaced the rubber with urethane.

A couple years later the motor started to run really rough. So, as my motto is "If it ain't broke don't fix it, and if it is make it BIGGER!!!" I opted for a bigger motor. And since everyone has a small block in their Z, I wanted something different. I settled on the 4.3L V6 because it is a lot lighter, I could get a lot better weight distribution, and they are rock hard and you can push some serious power out of them. After many years spending every bit of every paycheck on this thing I finally got it running, but only three days before I shipped off to boot camp for the Marines.

I like the new paint, looks mean! the fender mirrors fit in a lot better now too. I still think you should put the flush hood louvers like a ZX though. And the real question is whats the status on the V(or)TEC?

Nice job untill now. A lucky guy, you can drive this car with a 350 engine.I love the choice of your new wheels. Good luck and don't stop your restoration.
