I just picked this car from a guy in South Dakota for $1000. It had been stored in a pole-barn for 17 years and we were still able to start it up and drive it on and back off the trailer. Only a Mopar could do that! haha

The fit was pretty tight on the trailer, all 4 tires were bulging over the rail haha.

mopar_26's 1974 Dodge Charger mopar_26's 1974 Dodge Charger Its a stock 318 2bbl car with dual exhaust and auto on the column. Its nothing special but I've heard 74's are a little harder to come by because they were the last production year of the high performance/muscle type body style. Then they started in with the worthless luxury crap.

Its supposed to be a dark forest green high metallic with a white vinyl top. mopar_26's 1974 Dodge Charger

PLANS:
I'm wanting to restore it to semi original shape. I'm keeping the green with white vinyl but getting rid of that extra chrome strip running down the side of the car. (One sides already fell off). I'm currently workin on getting a 383 or 440...suprising huh? haha...and getting rid of the stock front bench seat (pretty rough shape) and putting buckets in with a B&M starshifter. But everything else I plan to keep mostly stock besides maybe putting a small system in (doesn't even have a radio or speakers currently). mopar_26's 1974 Dodge Charger mopar_26's 1974 Dodge Charger

This cars eventually going to be something you can run off pump gas and cruise but then be able to drive to the track and put down some decent times. I'm hoping for 14's depending on the engine I put in but still pretty stock. HEAVY HEAVY car what do ya expect?

That and I'm only 17 and still in high school, I can't afford a 10 sec. car haha. I pay for my own stuff unlike some.

you may want to go with a stroked smallblock to get the torque you may want..i've got a 440 in mine, yeah it's torqy but it is nose heavy..not to mention, you would need atleast a 3.73:1 suregrip to get decent traction and 4.56.1 to hook(+ subframe connectors).don't put traction bars on it unless you connect the subframes or you could twist the body on hard launches, wrinkling the sheetmetal around your c-pillars!the car weighs close to 4500 lbs with me in it too,HEAVYYY!when i had a 340 in it,it only weighed around 4100 lbs.you would also have to change the motor mount brackets on the k-member or else your drivetrain geometry will be off.this will cause drive shaft vibrations at around 55-75 mph(premature u-joint wear also).just figured i would drop a little helpful mo'vice..drop by and see my 73 w/440.
