This is the 1983 Camaro Z-28 I purchased in July 2008. It's got a 350 small block and a 700R4 transmission. It started life as a 305 Crossfire.

The vehicle had about 138,000 miles on it when I purchased it, but the engine had been rebuilt less than 1000 miles prior and the transmission has about 10k or 15k miles since the rebuild. It had been in storage for 4 years prior.

This has the original 83 Crossfire fiberglass hood with working air induction flaps. When you slam down the accelerator the flaps come up to let cooler air into the engine.

The paint is fairly new, but not super professional. The car still shines and there are tiny pinholes of rust on the doors by the weatherstripping. The interior is faded but the seats aren't ripped. I have a nicer black interior from an 86 Berlinetta that's going in or getting sold. I'm leaning toward selling it and keeping the tan interior.

The car has no music yet. I plan on putting in a CD player sometime. The cruise sometimes works and the A/C is warm. The car runs good and drives straight. That's all I need.
After sitting in storage all winter I got the car back out in April 2009. I just charged up the battery for an hour and it started right up. Unfortunately the heater core didn't like being woke up for the year and it exploded on the car's first jaunt. I just had it bypassed. No heat is no big deal right? At least it won't break again!
I'd consider trading this car for a nice A-body or G-body with little to no rust and a 350 or better. Regals, Cutlass Supremes, Monte Carlos, Grand Prix, Lemans, Can Am, Century GS, El Camino, Tempest, Malibu, you know. If you've got a nice running one in decent shape and want to trade, let me know!
