Preparation For New Engine 1 (Chassis)
With the new engine ordered it was time to get cracking on preparing the AE86 for the conversion. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the original engine being removed, but with that done, I went through the rest of the engine bay. I repainted it using Hammerite Black paint.

I had a PIAA extra light relay system here, which I never used and wasn't connected, it came with the car, I always wondered what that random switch in the cabin did. Maybe it had rally spot lights fitted at some point or it was used as a drift car in Japan.
This is a view of my master cylinder painted in hammerite blue, the brake servo was rusty (more on this later) so I scrubbed it up and painted it along with the rest of the engine bay, it was starting to look good:

I re-wrapped the wiring loom in electrical tape to neaten things up too, this greatly improved the appearance of the engine bay:
