A mid year local Japanese car club meet:
In August 2007 the gearbox went and started grinding horrendously, I had it replaced with the spare I had and luckily the spare was in good condition and drove well, also had a new clutch at the same time whilst work was going on down there.
In November 2007 the engine blew at approximately 166k km :'(
Stripping down and inspection showed the problem to be something went in the bottom end that blew a hole through a piston!
I apologise as I do not have many pictures of the removal and stripping of the original engine, I really should of not just for documentation purposes, but it would have been very handy at points in the conversion to refer back too. I advise anyone doing a conversion to take pictures of everything, and I mean every plug and bolt you undo, as you will wonder about it when it had to be replaced a few months later!
