This is what the car looked like when I first got it. I had already switch the interior out from another neon because it was that bad when I forst got it (single mom w/ 3 kids and a dog had this car before me). When I got it, only had the driver seat and puke on the carpet. They also thought it needed a tranny so I got a good deal on it.
Wonder why they call it a cold air intake when it leads to the hottest part of the engine bay?
Then one day after all the snow melted, I was watchin my nephew and he asked if he could help me fix my car. So with my 5 year old nephew's help we cleaned it up a bit and made it look like this.
Heres the sohc engine before I hauled it outta there. Once again, its my nephew inside the car (askin me what peddle to push lol).
Rewired battery power to the trunk with 4G wire to the fuse box and starter. going to buy a blue top battery when I get a chance
Installed the Focus exhaust
Heres how the exhaust sounded when I first installed it with the sohc engine.
I guess the tracks for the sunroof are really bad for braking because Chryler decided that using a little peice of plastic for the cable to snap into would be a good idea. Well it breakes all the time and costs over 400 for each side. so, I took the track into work and made a metal peice that would fit inside the plastic peice to make it strong and hopfully last forever.
Oil pressure and vacuum gauges installed
Some led fun in the vents and with the gauges lit up. You can kinda see the vent up at the windsheild but I didnt hold the cam high enough.
Installed the new headlights. The projectors arent as bright as i would have hoped they were. Lookin into hid's for em
Headliner is finally finished. Can you see my led's?
Here are some pictures of it at night. Doesnt seem very bright in the pictures but in person its pretty bright
installed cross drilled rotors and Apex pads.
New engine runs very well! cant wait till the spring when the snow is gone so I can go for a cruise :)
After a quick engine shampoo and scrubbing with a wire brush
The new custom cold air intake
new hood
New 17" Motegi's! got boroed n put em on. still need new tires for them to fit right
Just finished hooking up the under glow. My nephew was more then happy to help out.
Here they are at night with the trunk leds

Very nice. So many Neons on CarDomain are all show and no go. It's nice to see a well-modded Neon with more than just painted dash accents and a body kit.
