MileHighM3's 1988 BMW M3

Here is the history on the car:
MileHighM3's 1988 BMW M3The original owner is unknown, but early in it's life the car was prepared for high performance track use by one of the most highly regarded BMW tuners in the country, TC Kline Racing in Columbus, Ohio. (www.tcklineracing.com) That's where it got it's Ferrari Chrome Yellow paint. The next owner lived in San Diego, who is a personal friend of the owner of Bimmer Haus who ended up doing a lot of the work to the car. Once it was brought out this way Bimmer Haus did a LOT of work to it. It ended up winning the SCCA STX national championships and then it was parked as the owner got a VERY rare E36 M3 lightweight. After that he let the car sit for a couple of years with his focus on the lightweight and so he gave it away to his son's best friend and I was able to get my hands on it (and save it) from a guy that really didn't know what he had! Lucky me...

Pics on this page is when I first got it.

I need your help. You have visited my car and left feedback. I am in a car contest for the best car of the 80's set up by Texaco. I would ask you to visit that site and register and vote for my car. Here is the site http://www.texacocarofthedecades.com/DecadeLanding.aspx?DecadeFrom=1980&DecadeTo=1989 Hopefully I can overtake the Pontiac Fiero that is ahead of me with your vote. I have asked others at CarDomain to help me. I hope you can share my passion for my m3. Thanx

Man, another cherry E30 M3! The yellow looks amazing on it. You and Stenzgr should enter your E30s into this contest - www.texacocarofthedecades.com. One of the best cars of the 80s and for sure the best M3 of all time.

Lets see if I can remember your ?'s. Pulleys - the pulleys seem to works well, the reason I know this is that I must adjust my tightness from time to time, telling me that they spin with less effort or quicker than the stock ones. You see this is a condition that the race cars have to accommodate for since their pulleys spin quicker, meaning they give a small added boost. It does seem to never have any lag in acceleration now. The plugs in combination with other things , had a nice affect, and I can notice a difference when I put the stock plugs back in. Here are the passive combo's that I use: Nology or Bavarian hi-perf wires with Mallory 75,000 coil, Nology Power Core, cold air filter, and Silvertip plugs. Absolutley incredible starting, idle, and noticeable boost. Next, the addition of the alcohol injection shows on my gauge pod's air/fuel gauge that my octane and fuel levels are read to go up appreciably when it is on. For example, if I am driving on the freeway or track, and I flip the alcohol switch and inject alcohol, my gauge goes tto green instead of yellow. I then have more RPM and redline. As for the pod, we will have to comm via email to help you with that, it is not easy to find, but doable for about $20.
