1992 Geo Metro 3-Door Hatchback Coupe

This is the memory site of my old car. This car was my first car, and lasted me a long time. but then the clutch burned out, and split in half, and fucked up my tranny. the cost for the parts to repair it was insane, and i didn't have the money, nor the time and space in my garage to devote to rebuilding my tranny. so my dad had brought it up to his friends house one day to let it sit there untill we figured out what to do with the car. it turns out, soemone had seen the car, and they chose to offer me $1,200 bucks for it. i sold the car to him.

Everyone has their memories of their first car. this car was special to me. it represented freedom and independance for myself. i had doen a little work on the car to make it enjoyable. but the only thing i was able to do was just the sound system. it was a cheap system consisting of only four 4" 2-way cheap speakers, and two 10" Visonik Subs that only pushed 800 watts most of the time. but it was a great first car.

alot of people made fun of me or made fun of the car. but ill tell you this. i worked hard for that car, as i do with all my cars. i pay for all my cars all myself. with gas prices going up, it was a savior to have a car that got 50 highway MPG. and it was a first car. first cars aren't supposed to be the greatest cars out there. yes it was an ugly car, but it served its pyurpose. it started up, and got me from point A to point B, and back safely. I wouldnt recommend this car to anyone unless you enjoy dealing with faulty OEM parts. but it's a great project car and has tons of potential. especially considering it only weighs about 1300 pounds.

i had this car since i got my permit (july of 07) untill the tranny gave out (about may of 08). i got my license on january 9th. the car, when i got it, had about 275,000 miles on it, and still was running strong. the tranny broke because of my negligence and me trying to pop-the-clutch, and doing dumb things like trying to drift (Not the best car for drifting). It always had a series of problems. one of the biggest problems was a mad leaky exhaust. since the car had no potential with the money i was making, i chose to just get a factory OEM exhaust. bad idea. it rusted thriough in a mtter of weeks.

Moral of the story is, this car represented freedom to me. being my first car, i definitly loved it. yes the car isn't the greatest car otu there. but it was the best thing my har-earned money could buy at teh time, not to mention, the affordablility of insurance and gas. here are som pics of the car. more to come as soon as i can load them onto my computer.
