I first tested the system before starting the instal and am pleased to say that it worked first time.

First task is to remove the headrest, mark up the area to be cut with tape and then swallow hard - and cut!

Once the outer cover has been cut you must carefully remove the foam inside to maintain the headrest shape. DOnt just rip it out, take the time now and you wont regret it!

The headrest now looks like this:

Next job is to feed some cable ties around the internal metal posts to anchor the monitor down.

Once the headrest is put together it is time to feed the cable down the back of the seat. First take off the "grab handles" either side of the LR headrest,
remove the seat base plastic side covers, unclip the upholstery from the base of the seat back and feed a stiff wire through from the top down.

The wire is then used to pull the AV cables up through the back of the seat with some swearing and hey presto once put back together again it will look like this:

The DVD player is mounted below the passenger seat with remote eye cables fed forward through the transmission tunnel/centre armrest area. The 12V supply is pulled off the cigarette lighter.

The end result? A happy 2 year old daughter!!!!!

Just bought a 728i, replacing my E200. Drive is great, and I was surprised that it didnt lack power. Its 4 years old with just 45k miles. My brakes squeak, wonder how this can be fixed.

Will help whenever I can David. Just let me know and I will try and do my best. These cars go through a mid life crisis at 80k ish and mine went through that. No problems now though...touches wood

good to see another 728 theres not many on this net.i'm a newcomer to the 728 only had it a couple of weeks having got rid of my 300ce merc-no contest there i'm smitten with the 7 its a fabulous car-r plate, biarritz blue,18"type 32's,grey leather elec/heated,cruise,m sport wheel.i,m a little perturbed about the list of things that you've had done in your time with the car i hope not to expect too much trouble?!i know before i got the car it had the vanos replaced at 96k and new bottom end by rydale at 50k.i like to do as much service work thats possible myself but cant find much diy tech info yet however you seem pretty clued up and an enthusiastic owner are you happy to be a guru if i need some advice?hope theres not too much in store for me just yet!
