Shift boot and ball install

Ok i finally got my Custom made blue carbon fiber shift boot and carbon fiber ball in. Been waiting on those to be made so i could update lol. here we go again

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution

check it out Sweet as blue carbonfiber will look great once it installed lets get it

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  first of all unscrew the ball it goes counterclock wise if yours ball was stuck on like mine use a large pair of monkey grips and that will do the trick

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  Now use a flat head to unpop all the tabs on each side becarful and take it easy

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  a closer look just unpop it

now pull the whole assembly up. the cigerette ligher is still wired in dont forget you can unplug it or leave it in and just move the center peace so you can get the screws underneath however you want to do it i just shifted it

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  Like so

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  now here is a pick of the bracket for the boot and this should give you a ideal of the screw locations

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  now take the boot off the bracket and flip it inside out and cut the zip tie that is holding the bracket boot so you can reuse it on the new boot.

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  now place that black boot back in the new boot of course you have to flip the new boot inside out so you can ziptie the bracket in place

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  now flip it back the boot holder will stay in place now and there you go your new boot is ready

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  now here is the hard part/fun. It took me a 30 minutes to figure out how to do this. Most likey when you stretch your boot out to fit the bracket its going to be a tight fit and not stay still at all so you cant screw it in place. Here the fix there are litte sharp like tabs on the boot bracket. Punture your new boot like so in the picture to hold it in place. Now you can screw it in and of course adjust. You might have to keep the screw loose so you can then pull the boot down more from underneath. Like any boot it was probaly made alittle bit longer then stock just in case.

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution now that you got it the way you want it put it all back together. Dont forget to plug the cigerette lighter back up. Get your shifter ball your going to install and place it in there. Most shifter balls come with instructions how to get them on so im not going to cover that

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution  Bam now your finished look at before and after. Now the interior really looks tricked. Thanks next im going to install some injen intercooler pipes once they come in. I hope this helps somebody. Stay tuned

RockmanX's 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution this is a spare FULL carbon fiber knob i have if anybody is intrested new in package as you can see
