Intercooler hose install
YEA!!!!!!!!! I finally got my Reduce hose from the United Kingdom. Now i can replace that torn hose on my intercooler that i got from aps. NO more boost leak enjoy my newest mod i get my Fuel pump and Forge boost controller tomorrow just in time.
Here it is my reducer hose to fix the leak. I highly recomend these guys in the UK. I could not find any reducer hoses here stateside so i had to do what i had to do. 2 weeks to come in. Worth the wait.
Bumper is off i decided to opt the first half. Changing your intercooler or intercooler pipe or intercooler hoses are easy enough. Its getting the bumper back on that can be the problem. LOL
please dont forget about the intercooler water hose for ALL us EVO 03s. you can clearly see it in the pic below so dont go and pull your bumper straight out unless you want to be mad.
Also you have these little taps on each side that hold the bumper on the car just pull down nice and easy to pop. You will hear the pop. Its the little white thing on the topside of bumper on this pic
The bumper gaurd has 4 (10mm) bolts holding it on easy enough to get off.
Here it is access to change the intercooler etc. OR get at that left hose that is way to short. I rigged that small reducer hose to fit the car on the left side on this pic. You can clearly see why its causing a boost leak. ITs undersized but was on as a temp until my part arrived. You can also see a closer shot of the intercooler water sprayer hose and seen in the pic below.
There you go left side only see it lol.
Now its off. I loosen the lower intercooler braket front and back so i could just wiggle the hose off. That way i dont have to take off the whole intercooler. LOL why would i want to do that again. Now be WARNED those two brackets could be a pain in the ass to line up again it can be done just take your time with them.
New hose is on FITS HELLA BETTER and of course now no leak so now when my boost controller comes in tomorrow i can cank it up to 23 psi and get all of that HP gain. Of course i order a Fuel pump with it YES SIR!!!!!!!!!. if you need help with bumper removeal or questions shoot me a email or visit evolutionm.net great walkthoughs
