MDF mounting ring for Morel woofer
Morel woofer required 2 rings glued together for reduced mounting depth. I didn't router these to a perfect circle because they're hidden behind the door panels, and I will likely upgrade to a larger woofer later.
Painted rings with SEM flat black texture coat to reduce visibility behind the factory grill.
The back of the speaker grill has a plastic baffle that comes in contact with the foam ring around the factory speaker to seal and direct the output. This had to be trimmed with a utility knife to clear the bigger Morel speaker.
I used RAAMAT behind the speaker and baffle rings to deaden the door panel and seal the mounting surface.
OK, this is a Boston Pro woofer mounted, as 1 of my Morel's was apparently blown. These are the older Boston Pro's from a 3-way set I've been saving for awhile.
