This is my dad's (slowly becoming my, ha ha) 1992 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo. It has a 3.0L V6 DOHC 24V hooked to a 5 speed manual tranny. Black on black. Leather seats. All Wheel Drive and All Wheel Steering! She has just under 100,000 miles on her. For the past years, she hasn't been driven too much, my dad decided to retire her as his everyday-driver and has been garage kept. The farthest it would go would be about 5 miles down the road to his work. Then, after 16 years of doing basically nothing to her, other than regular maintenance, he decided to restore her! Although, awhile ago, he did put in a new Eclipse head unit, but only after the stock CD player/tape deck died. My friend and I have been getting parts to replace the old, worn, and broken parts. And since my dad is getting old and delusional, he has been letting my friend and I drive his baby. So we have been driving her around, making sure she gets her workout, and she loves to be driven! Now my dad and I have to fight over who gets to drive her. Other than the regular wear & tear, the car is in pretty cool condition for not being touched in 16 years, still sounds and drives good. The interior needs some help but that is our next step after the sunroof, we need to get that to stop leaking, but since it's always in the garage, the car stays dry. Over time, the seats starting ripping, which you can see in the pictures, the E-brake lever/button and steering wheel are worn, the vents on the dash have started to break, and the door panels are bubbled-up where it has become unglued. As far as what my friend and I have already done, we replaced the shift boot, shift knob, glove box, a few broken switches, the ash tray (that was filled with gum rappers and god knows what other sticky stuff), wiper blades and arms, and pass. door control panel. But my dad is coming along, I have finally convinced him to look at after-market stuff like door sill panels, nice pedal covers, intake filter, spark plug cover plate, and hood vents (all parts from WWW.3SX.COM ). The exterior is also not too bad, the paint definitely has some cracks, scratches, chips, and faded areas but overall its not too bad for 16 years old. The engine bay looks like a mess, but it's just dirty, and believe it or not, but we didn't hack up the wiring, that mess of wires and tubes is all factory, it's quite a tight fit.
I am currently working on getting her finished, so she's our restoration project. I have to find a good place for sunroofs (many places don't even want to touch Stealths!), and my dad wants to see if he can get a different style sunroof (the kind that pops up and slides back). Then, it's interior time! Fixing all the broken vents, reupholstering the seats and steering wheel, replacing the headliner, and freshing up the dash. Finally, fresh paint!! Of course keeping it black on black. She'll be looking so beautiful, I can't wait!!
