This is what my stang looked like
when I purchased her in 2003. She
was supposed to be my daily driver
to keep miles off my F150 truck).
Well the more I drove her, the more
I love her and decided maybe the
Stang should be the nicer of the two
vehicles!
The first thing we did was Limo tint the windows to keep out the Arizona sun. Then we added a new paint job in Mazda "Winning Blue". Next we got rid of those hideous rims! We went through a set of Roh's and ended up settling on these 17" GT500's. We added a Bassani X-pipe, Flowmaster catback exhaust, and a Hurst short throw shifter. My girl's got a nice rumble...
Even though the car has come a long ways, she still didn't get the looks or compliments she deserved. My husband kept insisting she would look better lowered and with the more agressive wing. I hate admitting it but he was right. Another advantage to lowering the car is that she handles like a dream!!!
As for the interior, first we had to find all the pieces as very little of the interior was actually on the car when we bought it. We recovered the headliner in passion suede, put the door panels back on, and got a new ACC Carpet kit. I had the stock seats recovered in the synthetic leather, tweed combination seen here.
My FAVORITE part of the interior is my rear seat delete kit by K Dezines. Originally my husband started making these kits for other people. After hearing customers rave about them, I finally ditched my rear seat and had one installed. I have the vinyl front on the kit to tie it in with the seats. I love it! I can haul stuff around when I need to and the judges love the clean look it gives the inside. Hoping to install the stereo that goes with the delete kit before the end of the year!
I get alot of people who comment on the car and say they like the front of the 87-93s better. I like having a 4eyed freak! I like to be different and there seems to be alot less of the four eyes than the later foxes!
Future Plans: I have taken the 86 off the road so I can better upgrade her (I now drive a 95 Mustang GT for a daily driver). Up next will be the stereo install with custom door speaker buildouts, 2 10" subs, and amplifier. After that I will be doing an engine swap!
