This is my 1996 Mitsubishi Galant. This car is my 2nd chance car because I previously had a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant that I was going to turbo and swap to a 5speed transmission. That car was severely vandalized and among other things during that time in my life...I had to part ways with that car. This car was a gift from my fiance on Valentines day 2004 after a year w/o a car and seeing how down I was parting ways with my 95 Galant.
Alot of the upgraded suspension I had on the previous car is on this one now and some of the JDM exterior pieces I bought too are on this car now. I have a soft spot for 7th gen Galants...I love the look of the car and they are fun to drive since they are relatively light and this car is obscure from the normality of the many cars on the road.
ALOT of sweat, time, and money has been put into this car and has been my median of automotive knowledge since I worked on this car myself. I researched and installed everything for the turbocharger setup for the exception of the catback exhaust and my friend teaching me to weld when we did the intercooler piping. I sourced out some hard to find JDM parts of the 7g Galant VR4 in Japan like the deck wing, sideskirts, and rear taillights. I converted the front bumper to a 97-98 front and modified a front lip for the car and rear bumper valances myself. The car is loaded with alot of suspension upgrades and chassis and frame stiffening upgrades.
This car is going to be my "budget" circuit track car and getting it prepared as I plan to get into circuit and AutoX next year. I am currently building a stronger motor and getting ready for a new brake setup.
