SUSPENSION UPDATE, JUNE 3, 2009 I got a call from Major Muffler today. Since we didn't do the dropped axle I was concerned that de-arching the springs wouldn't get it low enough. He told me that it came out great and that once the doors and interior are back on the top of the tire and the fender lip should match up pretty well. This week I'll pick it up and tow it back to the barn. Tonight I have to start reassembling the doors, install the glass and power window kits, etc. Hopefully in the next week we'll get the doors back in, tank hooked up and enough wiring done to start it up and take a cruise. Pictures below!dD READY TO START! JUNE 9, 2009 The van is back at the mancave and coming right along. The suspension is not as low as I had wished but given the deadline I'm on, it looks cool and will work fine until I can actually get a drop axel. In hindsight, I wish I had tubbed it a couple of inches. These tires are not quite wide enough and I don't have the clearance to go beyond 215/70R15. We tried the 225's and it was just too close. I didn't want to have to bend back the fender lips.
