Soda dosent take care of the bondo as fast as the paint...well its a waste of time /$ using all of the soda for that purpose..plus i ran out of it.  Oh that goes for rust too..just takes off the surface rust not the hard rust bubbles etc.

The top of the shell / cage is the worse..where the old rag top had cracks the water seeped in rust holes go through some dont...grinding that down with a dewalt grinder with wire brush ..make so much noise that i use ear protection..poor neighbors...because it shoulds like a lawmower when grinding down the rust and i did that for 3 hrs straight..still needs about 2 more...

Grinding down everything down to smooth metal, then coating with Rust. Dr. and top coating with industrial primer...see if any rust bounces back..doubt it will...grinded everything down so..there shouldnt be any problem..scary thing is that the rust dr is a water base we will see..

Glad I took the bondo off and gone, mainly to make sure there was no rust under it because eventually if there were it would crack and would redo.  left quater panel was replaced and overall the body is straight..

Looking nice. should be a beauty when finished. I like it when people take the initiative to work on their cars themselves. thumbs up.

Hey Marc, When you told me you were restoring a 1970 Challenger, I thought you meant a side project of sorts. But you've got a full scale restoration. Looks like a lot of work! It's nice that you have a personal connection to this car. I wish you smooth sailing and success - update as you go - very interesting stuff! Ivan
