YOURS TRULY
I was your average car driver. When I got my first car,I knew nothing what was under the hood. As I had to travel frequently outstation on my own, I decided it wiser to buy the AA Book of the Car and read a page a day. It soon dawn on me that subtle modifications can make a big difference to engine efficiency. This started with a change to performance spark plug cables that progressed onwards.
My first 15 years of driving was a brand new 1600cc FIAT 131 Supermirafiori and my driving style developed from it; a heavy manual rear-wheel drive car blue-printed and scooped up with twin 40 DCOE Webers, DIY-ed an air box for a K&N air filter, electric fuel pump, Cromodora magnesium rims, adjustable Konis and full Commodora exhaust system. I kept it throughout the best years of it's life and gave me a who-dares-win attitude I wouldn't dare do now. The KIA Spectra represents my transition to the world of automatic gear cars. I admit I fumbled several months before I finally adjusted. Having said that, when I allow myself a wild spin, I use the automatic gear as if it were a manual . Given the choice, I still prefer a Continental but beggers can't be choosers so upgrading this non-Continental is the way to go and if well set-up , is not a bad alternative.
