Well heres what happens when you mix a dumbass like me with a fast car an a little grudge race, I'm not gonna go on about how fast it was, it ran a 16.50 on the 1/4 mile, it needed a rebuild pretty bad. The car ended up only lasting 5 months before I totalled it.
Well I guess I can tell how I totalled it now.
Well after class out at hawkeye tech in waterloo my freind who I am not going to name and I decided to see whos car was faster. Now the vette had more torque but only 4 gears, his car was a 2003 mazda speed proteg'e and has 1 more gear then mine plus a turbo. Well once we got off campess we went out to hess road which is mostly straight and has 2 overpasses as you come over the hill. Well we started off at the stop sign at the top of the hill, as I got to the bottom of the hill I met a van in front of me, I was doing about 100-105 at the time and I pulled out to miss the van. I pulled out to fast and the rear end started skidding, I started to correct it and I hit a deep bump in the road that I had forgotten about. After I hit that it skidded off onto the shoulder where I hit some rail road ties that were in the ditch. As soon as I hit those it got airborne, then the last thing I saw was the over pass piller out the back window. Well the first words said was OH FUCK! Then smashing glass and 2 backflips, hit the bridge a second time as it spun around. And it finally came to rest on the roof. I was concious through the whole crash and as soon as it stopped I took off my seat belt and fell upwards. I was in a daze still and couldn't realize why I fell up untill I could feel the gravel in the back of my head, I started to crawl out but after I got my upper torso out between the door and the ground I became wedged in between them. I pretty much gave up trying to move after that. Well my freind turned around and called the ambulance. As soon as they showed up they used the jaws of life to lift the vehicle up so they could pull me out. As soon as I was free I tried to stand up but was pushed back to the ground by a paramedic. Well after that I got strapped to the board and lifted into the ambulance. An I was talking with the medic and everytime the driver hit the breaks I would slide forward a little and it would pull the lacerations on the back of my head open which was very pain full. As soon as they got me into the hospital they started IVs and all of that, go in to the x ray room to have x rays taken of my head to see if I had any internal bleeding or brain damage. I am lucky to be alive and I honestly never go over the speed limit anymore. I don't want to come off as the guy that preaches about not street racing and such but to be honest it is fun, and an adrenaline rush but its not worth dieing over, so just be carefull. Anyway if you have any questions just send me a private message and I will get back to you. Also check out my other rides if you want to kill a little time.
