So here's the story. I've been kind of considering getting a car for 2nd daily driver. Gas prices and an AWD Lexus are a little tough on the wallet. Yeah, I would have saved more money just by not buying another car. But there's something that makes you feel good about getting 35 MPG. So I started looking for a naturally aspirated, first-gen MR2. Then I found this beauty on Craigslist last Saturday, test drove it on Sunday, and bought it Monday. I'm telling you - the pictures don't it any justice.
Some history:
-Hits Scottsdale, AZ on 05/16/1986
-Sold on 07/15/1986 with 10 miles
-05/07/2007 Cadillac dealership takes it as a trade from the same owner of 21 years
-Auction house in Auburn, WA buys lot of cadillacs from AZ dealer. Part of lot includes MR2.
-Truck driver hears about the car from a buddy that auto-x's and tells him it's clean.
-Truck driver buys car at auction for $2800 on 1/17/2008 with the intent to build auto-x project. Unfortunately, he doesn't get around to it.
-the rest is history...and the beginning of a new era.
