All work that was done on the Durango was designed and built by myself using AutoCAD and Rendering software on my computer. I started the project over my Xmas break from college.
The first step was to completely remove all interior panels and seats from the truck. FATMAT sound deadening material was lined on the entire inside of the truck to enhance sound performance and to help prevent it from sounding like a box of spoons when the base hits.
Wiring was then set up and taped down to the floor. 1/0 gauge wire was used to help ensure proper power flow and if any additional amps were added then there would be plenty of juice to do the job.
When I first started designing the box I had one thing in mind. BOLT THE DAMN THING TO THE CAR SO NO BASTARDS WOULD TAKE IT. To do this I pulled out the 3rd seat, lets face it I never used and and no one else really does, and designed a custom mounting bracket that was bolted directly to the chasis. The actually box then sits ontop of this rack and is screwed down to it. This not only prevents someone from taking it but also is good in case of an accident so that the box doesn't wind up in my ass
As you can see everything is made out of 3/4 MDF board. The box is a sealed box and is specifically designed for the JL subs and has 2 enclosures. Each enclosure has exactly 1.25 cubic ft of air space. The amps are attached directly to the sub box and the Caps are attached to the mounting rack. When everything is powered up this system sounds great.
